Who we are
Library Lexique is a resource hub that aims to promote and facilitate the use of French in library services. To achieve this, the site offers:
- Lyrics and videos to French children’s songs, rhymes, and fingerplays, useful for children’s programmers, teachers, early childhood educators, and parents;
- A lexicon of English to French library terms, of particular interest to those working in the field of library and information science; and
- A growing mix of other resources, to support those working bilingually in English and in French.
Library Lexique is created and maintained as a personal project by Katherine and Claire, who are both librarians from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
